The people
Today we started with a visit to the U-Bien bridge about half an hour out of Mandalay. It is made of teak and 1.2 km long. There were quite a few people there... not just tourists but also Burmese and many monks.
On to the bus again to check out the obligatory factory shop ... silk this time. given the number of souvenir bags on sale these people were big supporters of "The Lady"
Another drive and another river ferry.
And across at the other side were horse and carts.
A very bumpy ride I might say.
I was followed by a young girl trying to sell me a necklace.
I finally gave in on the condition she didn't follow me any more.
Later it was off to enjoy the nightlife of Mandalay. Another crazy restaurant and interesting night markets
